I was at home checking my emails when I saw a payment notice and the amount looked a bit lower than I remembered. I thought I made a mistake. I opened my car booking from QEEQ and then I saw that their Price Drop Protector had saved me some money. I am from the UK and I planned a trip to the United States. I wanted to pick up a car near Newark at the end of July and drop it off in Indianapolis in mid August. We are a bigger group so I needed a seven seat car. I even wrote in the note that I needed 7 seats for sure. The car group was a Chevrolet Traverse with Avis, an automatic seven seat SUV. The space looked just right for us. When I booked it, the price seemed okay so I just paid. I did not think too much about it because I was already busy with flights and hotels. Later when I saw the money difference, I remembered that the booking page said that if the price went down, they would book it again at the lower price and give me the difference back. At that time I was not very sure this would really happen. It sounded a bit too nice and I felt that in real life it might not work often. I just thought it was a small extra feature and maybe I would never use it. A few days later the price changed and they moved me to a cheaper booking in the same car group. I did nothing. I just waited for my trip and the extra forty plus pounds came back to my account. The pick up was still planned around late afternoon near Newark at the end of July and the drop off was still in Indianapolis in the afternoon in mid August, so my plan did not change at all. For me this surprise saving felt very real. I am still careful with money so I quickly thought that this amount could pay for a good burger meal in the US or help with some gas. I also liked that I did not need to spend time checking prices again or cancel and rebook and worry about losing the seven seat car. It was like someone was watching the price for me while I just focused on my visa, my flights and where I wanted to go. When my friend asked why my car budget worked out so well this time, I told them that the site sent the price drop money back to me, so I kind of earned a little travel cash for free.
