At first I felt a bit nervous. I was going to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia as an overseas visitor and a big credit card charge at once makes me feel stressed. Then when I booked I saw the One-Dollar Freeze on QEEQ. My first thought was this. Is it really only 1 dollar first? Will there be some trick later? I checked the total price again. It was still the same amount but now it only took 1 dollar at that moment. I thought I would just try it. If it was bad I could change to another company next time. I clicked pay and my bank message came. It really only charged one dollar. I felt a lot lighter right away. A few days later I started to worry again. When will they take the rest of the money? Will it hit my card in a bad time? I looked at my booking. My pickup in Riyadh was around the middle of February in the evening so I just hoped the charge would be before my trip. Before my flight they auto charged the rest of the rental. I checked my card record. It was the same price as before and there was no extra fee and no interest. I finally felt very calm. I thought about it again. If I paid the full amount at the start my credit card limit would feel very tight and I would keep thinking about it. With this way I used 1 dollar to lock the booking and the rest was charged before the trip. For a student like me it makes the pressure on my card much smaller and I do not need to think about interest or due dates so I can just focus on getting ready for my travel.
