On my trip in Barcelona, the thing I remember most is not a place but a small accident in the middle of it. Around the middle of March, about the 16th, I picked up a manual Toyota Aygo from Niza Cars in Barcelona as a solo traveler. The car was small and easy to drive. I kept driving around the city and the sea side and felt pretty free. Close to the end of the month, around March 30, when I was ready to return the car, I saw there was a scratch on the side of the car. It was probably from some parking lot and I did not notice it at all when it happened. At drop off, the rental desk staff checked the car very carefully. He took photos of the scratch and asked me to sign a damage report. He told me this cost would be charged to my credit card. In that moment I felt shocked. I was traveling alone and my budget was tight. When I saw the amount on the paper I started to panic. A few days after I went back home, I started to contact them and sent the damage report that the rental company gave me. I was nervous and worried that the claim might fail. After they reminded me again, I took clear photos of the paper documents and also of the damaged part of the car and sent everything. Then they helped me file the claim and I just waited on my phone. Some time later they told me the insurance side wanted clearer photos of the damage. I searched my album again and sent more pictures. During those days I felt quite stressed because if I had to pay all the money myself, this trip would be way over my budget. Soon they told me that AXA had already approved the claim and would pay back the amount that the rental company charged. I felt a big relief at that moment. All my worry finally stopped and I was really glad that I chose that coverage when I booked.
