To be honest the first thing that made me happy about this car booking was not the car but the money part feeling much lighter. I booked through QEEQ because I planned to take my kid to Christchurch in early June and I needed a small car like a Toyota Aqua. When I saw there was a One-Dollar Freeze option I felt less stressed right away. That night I was on my phone checking different deals. The total price was all kind of similar. I said to myself I wish I did not need to pay so much at once because I still had to pay for flights and hotel for my family. Then I saw this option that said I only needed to pay 1 dollar first. I did not fully trust it at first and read the notes a few times. I thought maybe there is some trick. It said the rest of the money would be charged before the rental started and it did not say anything about interest. So I decided to try it and clicked confirm. When I paid and saw my card was only charged 1 dollar I checked my bill again. I did a quick calculation in my head about this month budget and I felt much less pressure. My wife was next to me and asked if I had booked the car and if we needed to keep more money on the card. I told her it only took 1 dollar now and the rest would be taken close to June. She felt better too and said this way we could use our money first for our kid school fee and daily costs. Time passed and when it was close to early June I suddenly remembered this booking. I checked my credit card bill and saw the rest of the rental fee already taken. The amount was correct and there was no extra charge and no strange fee. I thought to myself so it really just splits the payment and nothing more. For someone like me who has to think about family costs and trip budget at the same time this payment plan is really useful. The whole booking felt simple to me. It was like I used 1 dollar to lock the car first then I could slowly plan the trip and the money. When it got close to the pick up date they charged the rest by themselves and I did not need to remember any payment date. So when I was busy planning my kid schedule and our days in Christchurch I did not have to worry that a big payment would suddenly hit my card all at once.
