One-Dollar Freeze

My problem at the start was money. I was planning a trip in Morocco with my kids and I saw that renting a car could mean a big payment at once. I did not feel very safe about my credit card limit. Then on QEEQ I saw a thing called One-Dollar Freeze. It said I only needed to pay 1 dollar first to hold the car and the rest would be charged before the rental started. I told myself I should lock the car first and think about other things later. So I clicked it. Some days passed. I was busy asking for leave from work and checking my kids school plans. Sometimes I suddenly remembered that I really only paid 1 dollar. I was a bit scared that maybe the car would not be there later. Then I remembered what they wrote and I tried to calm down. The money would be charged before the start so I should not worry too much. Around one or two days before the trip I checked my credit card bill. I saw that the rest of the amount was already taken and it was the same price as the booking. No extra fee. I felt my heart relax and I thought my plan was still under control. When I reached Marrakesh on May 11 around noon with my kids and went to the rental counter the staff checked my information. I was still thinking in my head that if I did not have this 1 dollar option I might never book so fast. I would be afraid of that big prepayment and maybe I would cancel the plan. With this way the pressure was much lower. I could keep my money for family needs first and then adjust things slowly before the start. For me the main point is that my credit card did not feel so heavy. I did not need to block a big amount too early. As a parent with kids this small kind of flexibility is actually very helpful.

One-Dollar Freeze

You really only paid one dollar for the booking My friend on video looked at me like I was joking. I said yeah and I booked it on QEEQ. At first I did not fully trust it. I was at home planning my trip to Marrakech in Morocco. My flight ticket was already booked and my credit card bill was a bit scary. I still needed a car there so I started checking prices. I saw they had something called One-Dollar Freeze. It said I could pay only 1 dollar first and lock the car then the rest would be charged later. I remembered an old trip. That time a big amount was taken from my card at once for a rental. Later my plan changed and I had to fight for a refund. It was annoying and it took time. This time I wanted something easier. I did not want my credit card to feel too heavy. So I decided to try this One-Dollar Freeze option. I chose an automatic Fiat Tipo in Marrakech. I planned to pick the car up around nine in the morning on May 5 and return it in the afternoon on May 7. When I placed the order the page showed they would only charge 1 dollar as the booking fee. The rest would be taken from my card before the rental started. I felt pretty relaxed. It was like I used a very small amount to hold my spot. A couple of days later I checked my credit card app. It really only showed a 1 dollar charge. There were no strange extra fees. I felt safer when I saw that. Their rule felt clear and I did not need to think about some hidden cost. Closer to my trip I got a payment alert. It said the rest of the rental fee was charged from my card. The timing made sense. It was not very early and it did not feel sudden. It felt like the whole process was moving in a normal way. I did not feel a big pressure because at that time I already planned my other expenses. I just needed this one charge to go through. When I arrived at Marrakech airport I went to the counter and talked to the staff. He checked the system and said everything was fine and the car was ready. At that moment I felt that this 1 dollar really kept the car for me. It was like I had a reserved seat and I did not need to block a lot of money on my card. During the trip when I drove around the city I sometimes thought about this again. If there was no way to book with just 1 dollar I might have waited longer or I would have to pay a big amount in advance and then worry if my plan changed. Now this style felt lighter. I only needed to make sure my card had enough credit and the system would charge the rest before the rental. For me One-Dollar Freeze fits people like me who travel through a few places and plan step by step. Sometimes the full trip is not fixed but I still do not want to lose a good price or a car that fits my needs. Using 1 dollar to hold it feels just right. There was no strange charge and there was no interest at all. My bill was very clear. When I returned the car the staff checked it quickly and told me I could go. I walked out and thought about how this one dollar then auto payment style made my planning easier. My credit card did not take a big hit at the start and my mind felt more relaxed even before the trip began.

That day in Marrakech airport the weather was a bit hot and I walked to the rental desk with my luggage. I was in a pretty good mood and just wanted to get my Dacia Sandero and start the trip. Things changed fast. The guy at the counter had a really cold face and his tone was not friendly. Every time I asked something he looked like I was bothering him. When I drove the car out of the parking area he suddenly said I needed to pay a fee. I was shocked and in my head I thought why do I need to pay for this. There were many people around and I did not want to argue there so I just paid it. On the return day I brought the car back to Marrakech again but一two days later than I first arrived. I washed the car outside before going to the airport and cleaned the inside as well. I felt kind of proud because the car looked good and I thought there would be no problem. The staff walked around the car and then said I had to pay a cleaning fee. I told him the car was already washed. He just lifted his shoulders and said this was their rule. At that moment I felt very angry and also a bit helpless. He was very tough and I was alone there so I did not know how to fight back. They took the money and I left. Back at my place I kept thinking about it and it just felt wrong. So I took photos of the receipt and my papers and contacted the customer service team from QEEQ. I was ready for a long fight and thought they might ignore me or tell me it was my problem. It was not like that. The person on the line talked to me in a calm and patient way and asked me step by step what happened which fee I paid at the parking exit and which fee the rental company charged later. It felt like someone was really listening to my story and to my bad feeling. They did not ask me to do some crazy process. They just made sure the amount and the situation were clear and told me they would try to fix it and keep following my case. I felt much lighter in my heart because now I was not alone against the rental company. Later they told me they would pay me back the money that was taken for the parking exit and the cleaning. The amount was a bit over one hundred Moroccan dirham so not huge but it meant a lot to me. It made me feel cared for and respected after the cold face at the counter. When I think about this rental now the experience with the rental company was pretty bad but the support team really saved it for me. Their follow up and help turned something unfair into something I could accept and I did not end up losing money for nothing.
